Need advise how to lower my credit cards?

My husband and I are way over our heads in debt. Ya i know we should have been more careful spending. But a few things have happened in the last couple of years.

1. Death in the family that we paid for.

2. My husband broke his back in 3 places two months after the death and was out of work for about 4 months.

3. We took custody of a third child to help a family member and all she came to us with was a small suit case of clothes!

We had to buy a bed and clothes and spend extra $$$ on utilty bills etsc...

The interest rates are getting higher and higher and higher every month because we can%26#039;t even afford to pay the min.

Need advise how to lower my credit cards?

My husband and I were in the same situation and are just now getting to the point where we can pay everything every month. It may be possible to do it the way it is working for us.

You have to make a list - it will seem very scary but you have to actually make yourself do it. Make a list of every credit card you owe - what the minimum payment is, what the due date is and what the APR is

1. start by taking a calander for this month and write in when you get paid and how much, then write in every date that a card payment is due and how much. This will give you an idea of what you owe as opposed to what you make. See if you need to save more from the beginning of the month to pay a bill at the end of the month to get minimum payments paid

2. Also add to your calender any other bills you may owe on the date due. Rent, food, gas, laundry, utilities, allowance for personal items

3. after adding all of that in do you have anything extra at the end of the month at all, if so put that towards the card with the highest APR

4. every month continue to pay minimum payment on every card except the one with the highest APR until you finally get that paid off. After that is paid off which for my husband and I is still going to take a couple years you can take that large payment and put it all onto the next card with the highest APR

5. you will be able to see the progress your making really quick this way. Most of your money is probably going into interest like ours is. You can figure out what your interest is for the next month ahead of time really easily if you want

Here is an example

Say you have a card with $3,000 on it - minimum due is $110 and your APR is 32% -

3,000 x 0.32 (apr) = $960 per year in interest / 12 (months) = $80

so you may be making a 110 minimum payment but 80 of it will be going toward interest

If you could add so the payment is 150 so your paying $40 extra this month on the card the next month your balance will be 2930 and you interest will be lower

2930 x 0.32 = 937.60 / 12 = 78.13 - your interest will have already dropped by two dollars - this may not seem like much but within a year it will be huge

Need advise how to lower my credit cards?

Start with Dave Ramsey. He will change your life - and you can do his program without spending any money. Go to the library and check out his books.

Prioritize your spending. 1) Food; 2) utilities; 3) shelter; 4) transportation (so you can get to work) and 5) debt. Do NOT pay Mastercard no matter what a collector says (they all lie anyway) before you make a rent/mortgage payment. It won%26#039;t do you any good to get evicted while your card payments are up to date.

From Dave%26#039;s website:

%26quot;Dave has taught these principles to millions via radio, books, Financial Peace University, and online.

Now its your turn! Use the Baby Steps to get your finances in order and on track. Then pass them on to someone you know.

1) $1,000 to start an Emergency Fund

2) Pay off all debt using the Debt Snowball (see Dave%26#039;s website for more info)

3) 3 to 6 months of expenses in savings

4) Invest 15% of household income into Roth IRAs and pre-tax retirement

5) College funding for children

6) Pay off home early

7) Build wealth and give! Invest in mutual funds and real estate%26quot;

contact consumer credit counseling QUICK, to prevent from having to file bankruptcy, they will advocate to alll your creditors to lower your payment and interest rates so that more of what your paying go to the principle and so not everything you are paying is late fees and over the limit fees. CCC is a non profit org. beware of other counciling agencies as they may be costly and non effective.

Need advise how to lower my credit cards?

The best way is to tell yourselves this is the most important thing in your life for the next 6 months to a year depending on the amount of debt.

Then go out and get a second job EACH, (baby sitter if applicable is NOT an excuse you just alternate shifts) pay every dime of those funds to the debt.

Take the highest balance (against Dave Ramsey%26#039;s advice which makes no sense at all) and put the extra funds to that account making only the minimum to the other accounts until paid off.

IF that high balance is a VERY low interest rate compared to another account then pay off the one with higher interest first.

Next do away with everything that is not necessary, internet account, cable, cell phones, eating out etc. until the debt is paid down.

Good luck.

If don't pay your unsecured credit cards in 6 months period, can they garnish your wages?

yes they can they will sue you in court and get a judgment against you and have the judge order a garnishment against the amount owed also it depends on what state you live in some states don%26#039;t allow garnishments

If don%26#039;t pay your unsecured credit cards in 6 months period, can they garnish your wages?

NO but they can sue you for the money.

If don%26#039;t pay your unsecured credit cards in 6 months period, can they garnish your wages?

YES. And why wouldn%26#039;t they?

First they have to sue you and then the judge will order the garnish.

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

and if they can, how do u do it?

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

A 12 year old has no way of making money.

A 17 year old is more likely to have income, but a 17 year old isn%26#039;t legally able to enter into a contract.

Easiest was is to have a parent add you to their credit card line.

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

No, but identity theives can use their socials and other key info and get them. Be careful! Just get them the AMEX prepaid debit cards. They are safe.

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

they can get those keycard things i suggest asking at your bank

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

No

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

Credit cards no, not in their own name.

Debit cards yes, you can even have one linked to your bank account (though your parents will be able to limit how much you%26#039;re allowed to take out in a certain time period if they want to) in most banks. Talk to your parents and talk to the bank.

Hope that helps

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

Yes, it is possible - but it depends where you are in the world. For example, in America there is the Visa Buxx card which is half way between a credit and a debit card.

I also believe that a parent can issue a copy of their credit card to their children, once the child is over 14.

However, if the issue is convenience - rather than getting hold of money you don%26#039;t have - then most banks do debit cards for teens which all all the ease of being cash free.

Can 12-17 yr olds hav credit cards?

yes they can..when i filled out credit app.%26#039;s for myself,i always put my kids names on the application in the space that says,do you want a addictional card for someone else, just enter there name in the spaces below.my kids have platimun credit cards with excellant credit ratings thanks to me since 1994, and now my kids are in college. p.s. my kids were four and five at that time.

Does it just have to be credit cards that you consolidate?

I would like to have just one payment on everything, like my trucks, house,my 4-wheeler.Things like that.. It just seems it would be easier to make one small payment or at least try to make it.

Does it just have to be credit cards that you consolidate?

Not unless you have enough home equity to take out a new mortgage with %26quot;cash out%26quot; to pay the other things. You can%26#039;t finance personal property (cars, etc.) and real property on the same loan.

Why do people prefer american express credit cards?

Cause the name sounds fancier.

Why do people prefer american express credit cards?

I didn%26#039;t know that they did, my husband accepts all of them, but Mastercharge is at the top of the list with Visa coming in second.

He says that American Express is rarely used by the people who do business with him.

Why do people prefer american express credit cards?

cause the %26#039;name%26#039; is impresive.

unfortunatly the card holser does not know the snake they play with.

we will not take AmEx , so we don%26#039;t get taken.

Why do people prefer american express credit cards?

They actually don%26#039;t. Mastercard and Visa are, by a long shot, THE largest credit card processors in the world.

Many corporations prefer American Express for the business credit cards because of the services the company, not the employee, receives from the company to help them manage their expenses.

Hope that helps.

Why do people prefer american express credit cards?

Actually, I don%26#039;t know very many people who prefer amex.

Amex is pretty popular as corporate cards because they seem to have fewer biases against new and home based businesses.

However, most merchants don%26#039;t like amex because they charge the merchant more per transaction than the other two cards.

And since there are many places that don%26#039;t accept amex for this reason, most consumers don%26#039;t bother with amex and just get visa or mastercard.

Why do people prefer american express credit cards?

I don%26#039;t know why?But I think mastercard and visa have more users. And our company use the mastercard to do business

Why do people prefer american express credit cards?

I like my AMX card because of the benefits. To begin, it%26#039;s a Costco card and credit card in one; therefore, I don%26#039;t have to take both when I go shopping (silly huh). 3% cash back for using Costco gas (who does not like saving $ on gas?) and 2% when dining out ($ when I eat..yippie). Last but not least, it has my picture so I don%26#039;t have to carry my ID too.

Have a good night.

I was wondering if any lenders give out credit cards for people that have bad credit/no credit? Need help asap

yeah, I just got one, if youre a student, there are plenty of student cards. They lack benefits, but they%26#039;ll help establish better credit.

I was wondering if any lenders give out credit cards for people that have bad credit/no credit? Need help asap

When I was just starting to get my credit going (I had no credit at all) I got a secured credit card through my bank. My limit was $250....and they actually took $250 out of my checking account, and put it into a secured account.

It%26#039;s two years later now, and I have since cancelled that card, got my money back (and spent it again) and gotten a real credit card with good rewards.

I was wondering if any lenders give out credit cards for people that have bad credit/no credit? Need help asap

In my experience there are two types of Bad Credit Credit Cards. One is a secured card, and the other has a much higher rate of interest. Both can be used to rebuild your credit worthiness after getting back on your feet. Secured credit cards are great for rebuilding your credit. You send the credit card company a pre deposit amount set by the company%26lt;!--This amount will be equal to your credit limit. Pay over your minimum every month and send your payment in before the due date and you will build your credit up gradually. Never miss a payment, be late on a payment, or go over your credit limit even by a small amount.

http://best-loans.awardspace.com/credit-...

You don%26#039;t want the company to ever have to take from your pre deposit amount because they want you to handle your account just like you would an unsecured card. A great thing about this pre deposit amount that you send in is it can act as a savings account even earning a little--%26gt;bit of interest for you. After establishing yourself with the credit card company, they may decide to give you a unsecured credit card or increase the limit on the one you have with them without having to make another deposit. Secured credit cards are a good choice for anyone wishing to rebuild their credit history.

I started out years ago with a capital one secured credit card. It was the first step toward good credit. They asked for a 50 deposit and gave me a 300 limit. Last year they sent me back the $50. High interest card, but a great way to get started.

Any one know any good %26quot;bad credit%26quot; credit cards?

The safest way to rebuild good credit is to apply for a prepaid credit card with a bank. You can get one with a $500 limit, providing you deposit $500 in advance. When you don%26#039;t make a timely payment, they withdraw the payment from your deposit and shut down the card for good. Be careful and pay bills timely or ahead of time if possible.

Any one know any good %26quot;bad credit%26quot; credit cards?

Mastercard has created a pre-paid credit card. You can actually get that card at washington mutual, lord knows there%26#039;s a ton of them in Manhattan. You would put money onto the card, but you would still pay a bill as if it were a regular credit card. It%26#039;s a great way to start building up bad credit, because you are basically spending your own money.

Does it hurt your credit rating to have multiple credit cards with zero balance?

Yes, it does hurt your credit rating to have multiple cards open with a zero balance. It hurts your credit rating because you have the ability to charge on an open account so you%26#039;re a higher credit risk that if you did not have open zero balance accounts.

Does it hurt your credit rating to have multiple credit cards with zero balance?

I know that my score fell 20 or so points when I opened five credit cards last year (for the $100 each sign up bonus), but that could be that it is new credit. I think new credit hurts more than additional unused balance.

Does it hurt your credit rating to have multiple credit cards with zero balance?

NO, NO, NO.

The key here is zero balances. Having a large credit limit and not using (maxing them out) shows that you know how to use credit.

If your total line of credit is 5,000 on one card and you use it to the max each month, but pay it off each month, hurts you since you are using 100% of your available credit.

If you have 5 cards with $2,000 each and only use 1/2 the available credit on each,, this is better.

You should use each card, each month and NOT charge more then 30% of the credit limit. And then pay it off each month.

NOTE: yes, your credit score will drop if you open to many accounts in a space of time.

Does it hurt your credit rating to have multiple credit cards with zero balance?

if these accounts are new, you may take a hit of 10 or 20 points. In the long run, however, you will gain much more. 30% of your credit score is based on the ratio of outstanding debt to available credit. In your case, you have lots of available credit and no debt. Your ratio is excellent, which means your credit score will go up. Having availbale credit and not using it makes you look great and financially secure...a plus where fico is concerned

Does it hurt your credit rating to have multiple credit cards with zero balance?

It isn%26#039;t the number of cards but the total available credit limit that affects your score. At some point, having too much would negatively impact your score but we%26#039;re talking very big numbers.

The problem with a stack of credit cards that you don%26#039;t use is that you still have to secure the cards and monitor all those statements. I recommend that you keep the two oldest major credit cards without annual fees. Only keep store or gas charge cards if you have some special reason. Otherwise, close all the extra cards.

Yes, closing the cards will ding your credit score but if you keep 0 balances on the ones you keep, that score will rebound very quickly.

Does it hurt your credit rating to have multiple credit cards with zero balance?

Not necessarily. It can actually HELP your credit rating in certain circumstances. It can help your debt-to-credit ratio, which is how much available credit you have versus how much you are using. Keeping card accounts open that have positive histories can help, too.

Which Visa and Mastercard cards purchase airline tickets at the airport? Debit card, credit card or

Plane Ticket Purchases

Which Visa and Mastercard cards purchase airline tickets at the airport? Debit card, credit card or both?

Hi...

It may depends on the airlines... but all major must accept credit, debit... being from VISA or MasterCard... could not accept American Express.

However, I doubt you have any kind of problems with that.

Try to choose the %26quot;bigger%26quot; airlines... certainly accept all th cards... and... you may get more variety of tickets! (non-stop / 1 stop / more than 1 stop)

Have a great flight and a nice evening

Which Visa and Mastercard cards purchase airline tickets at the airport? Debit card, credit card or both?

I would think all major airlines accept both Visa %26amp; Mastercard. And if you are at an airport in either North America or Europe...I would assume they probably take debit cards. If they don%26#039;t...all airports now have bank machines located in them

Which Visa and Mastercard cards purchase airline tickets at the airport? Debit card, credit card or both?

Why would you buy plane ticets at the airport. The prices are rediculously high.

Call your travel agent. I know I take all forms of payments

Which Visa and Mastercard cards purchase airline tickets at the airport? Debit card, credit card or both?

all of them as long as they are accepted and valid

Can you use credit counseling even if most of your credit cards are in the 0% intro phase?

The counseling portion could be very educational. Your counselor however will advise that should you request a debt management program, that you not include those accounts until after the promotional rate has expired. This would be my advice as well.

They may also have additional strategies on how to deal with your debt successfully on your own.

Can you use credit counseling even if most of your credit cards are in the 0% intro phase?

absolutely, it could be educational as well

Can you use credit counseling even if most of your credit cards are in the 0% intro phase?

yes....

Does it hurt your credit to have a few credit cards with balances on them that you are paying off?

No late payments yet.

Does it hurt your credit to have a few credit cards with balances on them that you are paying off?

your credit score is determined by: total credit limit vs total owed.

and of course your payment history.

Does it hurt your credit to have a few credit cards with balances on them that you are paying off?

actually it helps your credit.....especially if you pay a little or a lot extra a month.!.

Does it hurt your credit to have a few credit cards with balances on them that you are paying off?

It%26#039;s good to have a couple of credit cards instead of just one. Your FICO score will raise with two different lines of credit.

Be sure you pay on time, keep your balances low and that will raise your FICO score too.

Later, get a personal loan at a finance company or bank. The interest rate will be high, but take the loan money and stick it in a savings account. Make double or triple payments on the loan with that money so it%26#039;s paid off soon with minimum interest. Installment loans are weighted differently (better) on FICO so you want to have one.

The other 2 big ways to build a strong FICO is with a car loan (weighted differently than credit card or regular installment debt).

Last to build is a mortgage, but that%26#039;s for later. If you take very good care of your credit, you%26#039;ll get a very good interest rate when you buy a house some day.

Does it hurt your credit to have a few credit cards with balances on them that you are paying off?

It doesn%26#039;t hurt your credit as long as you pay on time each month. Try to pay them off as quick as possible, since you are paying a lot of interest on your balances. If you are late on one card, all the other card companies will find out and jack up your rate up to 30%! It%26#039;s better to pay them off every month.

Does it hurt your credit to have a few credit cards with balances on them that you are paying off?

when you pay of your balance your credit score goes up

--------------------------------------...

http://www.bestcreditrates.net

Will it hurt my credit to apply for two credit cards in the same day? If so, how long should I wait?

It won%26#039;t necessarily %26quot;hurt%26quot; your credit. It depends on if you%26#039;re planning to apply for a mortgage soon or anything. It will touch your credit but you can easily make up for it in the next couple of months by not overspending on those cards. The credit companies like it when you have large amounts of credit you%26#039;re not using so I guess my best answer is, if you need to apply for a big loan in the next month or 3 then it%26#039;s probably not a great idea, otherwise, it%26#039;s not that big a deal.

Will it hurt my credit to apply for two credit cards in the same day? If so, how long should I wait?

yes. it would hurt. everytime you run your credit, you get about 9 points knocked off or something like that. i have great credit becuz i pay my bills on time and i do not hardly ever apply for cards. they will ruin your credit quicker than you imagine. you should wait at least 6 months before applying for the 2nd one.

Will it hurt my credit to apply for two credit cards in the same day? If so, how long should I wait?

Only do one now and wait 3 to 6 months, then apply for the second..

Will it hurt my credit to apply for two credit cards in the same day? If so, how long should I wait?

Many factors go into your credit score. It will drop your score initially to apply for any credit card but if you do not max out the credit limits on both cards it may not keep your score low. You should have at least 35% of your total credit available at any time.

For example...

If you have two credit cards with $1000 limit and you have $500 available on each card your credit score would be higher than if you just had one credit card with a $1000 limit that was maxed.

Will it hurt my credit to apply for two credit cards in the same day? If so, how long should I wait?

For every 4 CC you open, you lose one point.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

we were talking about this in school and I want to know what you like better

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Neither... CASH FOR EVERYTHING

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Debit card. That way I don%26#039;t have to worry about a bill coming in the mail.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I would not want a debit card. Credit cards are pretty safe, if one is stolen you liability is limited to about $50 and generally the credit card company will not hold you responsible at all. With a debit card, if someone steals the card and knows your code they can empty out your bank account and you have no claim.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Debit Cards are better, cause your spending your own money, with Credit Cards it%26#039;s not your money till you pay it back and if you don%26#039;t due it soon enough then you got interest to pay. Plus if your not too care full you could go into dome nasty debt with Credit Cards and paying hundreds more back on interest then you wanted or needed too.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Debit, as good as cash, can be used like a credit card, no interest, no bill in 30 days, and much safer if someone decides they would like to have it more than you. I rarely carry cash.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

http://magegame.ru/?rf=d1e5ead1e8

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I use my debit card for everything

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Debit cards!!! You dont have to worry about bills coming in the mail

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Credit Card...I forget sometimes to make a note of what I used the debit card for so I lose track..with a credit card I get a monthly statement so I know exactly what%26#039;s what.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Either way. You can use most debit cards to make credit purchases, you%26#039;ll just have to sign the reciept instead of entering a pin. But I think it really depends on the person. I prefer using credit cards, then I just pay my bill when it comes every month.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Debit Cards...no interest, no bills in the mail

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I like debit cards better. Credit cards promote the spending of money you do not have. This is why most Americans are in tremendous debt. and it is also the reason for the recent legislation that allows credit card companies to dramatically increase interest rates for individuals unable to pay the minimum balance or who pay their balances late. This legislation dramatically impacts persons on fixed incomes whom have retired or are disabled. How exactly does this help the economy? I have no idea but it will now be more difficult for people to file bankruptcy meaning the credit card companies will have Americans by the balls for years to come.

Debit cards make people manage their money.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Debit cards...i%26#039;m 23 and have luckily never had to own a credit card. i hate cash...debit card might as well be cash, just in a nice small plastic card

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I generally make purchases on my credit card. That way, I only have one checking account withdrawal a month. A credit card makes it easier for me to keep track of my budget and bank accounts (I have multiple bank accounts so its more complicated than it needs to be).

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

debit cards are better

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I%26#039;d say probably Debit. U can spend the money you have as opposed to the money you don%26#039;t. Or just use cash and don%26#039;t worry about any cards, but that%26#039;s last case scenario.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

Debit cards are much easier to handle. You can only spend what%26#039;s there, leaving you worry free about having to pay it back in the future. Some cards have features that send a percentage to a savings account, which make me feel like I%26#039;m making some effort towards putting away money.

The other benefit of debit cards comes when needing a credit card number, especially for things on the internet or buying over the phone. Some companies, such as insurance or on-line rental business, require you to have a credit card number. The debit card has this feature, but automaticly takes out the payments from your account, rather than billing you and having you handle the payment.

Credit cards are not free money, which is what some people consider them as. You have to repay not only what you spend, but also the interest that accumulates until you do pay it off.

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

debit cards are better to use at the end of the month you don%26#039;t have to pay a bill and all the interest

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

they are two diff types for a reason. i think of it as you can spend money with debit and save money with credit(if you set yourself up right). by opening a credit card you can start to build credit if you stay on top of your bills. what i do is set up for automatic bill payment. this will take out money from your banking account each month on a specific date(you can tailor it to your needs to take out a certain amount or just the minimum). this way you build your credit score by paying on time, dont pay the hefty interest, and %26quot;save money%26quot; by not paying any more than you need to. after you build up credit you can apply for %26quot;better%26quot; cards that offer money or a percentage back on your total bill. hope this helps

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I like debit because the amount of funds come directly out of my account with no finance charges and intrest charges

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I personally like credit cards much better

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I have no problem with neither of them,,, though I have friends who said the debit card completely screws up their checkbook for they get confused. Well I highly DOUBT the debit card is screwing up and that the fault lies with the people.

I am happy with my credit card now, but I did have a %26quot;Capital One%26quot; credit card and had to tell them where to get off ...Let me advise you against EVER getting a %26quot;Capital One%26quot; card ! Do not do business with them or any subsidiary of them... you will have nothing but problems !

Good Luck ! : )

What do you like better Debit Cards or Credit Cards?

I prefer to use a debit card. It easier than carrying cash around because I lose cash. My older mother on the other hand prefers cash. I still carry cash because some stores do not take cards yet.

You do have some protection with a debit card. If the debit card has a Visa or MasterCard symbol on it. You are also protected by their zero liability policy.

What happens to your credit if you stop using credit cards, apply for loans, etc.? Does your score c

It should not make any difference.

If you have balances on accounts and continue to pay them as agreed, it will continue to go up. If you have balances and do not pay them as agreed, it will go down.

If you have a inactive file for a long period of time however your score will drop.

I have seen people who say they have great credit and when you look at it they have no score at all because they have paid cash for 7-years.

What happens to your credit if you stop using credit cards, apply for loans, etc.? Does your score change?

Your score is affected by whether you pay your bills on time, and how much available credit that you have.

If you have $10,000 in credit available on 2 credit cards, and balances of $1000 each on those cards, your credit will be better than someone whose two cards are maxed out.

What happens to your credit if you stop using credit cards, apply for loans, etc.? Does your score change?

As long as you dont close the accounts it should continue to go up if it were low or remain high if it were already high.

If my parents die with balances on their credit cards will I have to pay them even though I am not l

as a card holder????

If my parents die with balances on their credit cards will I have to pay them even though I am not listed?

No you will not. Whoever is executor of the estate will handle what is owed. And it is only paid if there is money in their estate.

If my parents die with balances on their credit cards will I have to pay them even though I am not listed?

no, it is their debt not yours

If my parents die with balances on their credit cards will I have to pay them even though I am not listed?

No. However their estate will. If you are left money or assets and their bills haven%26#039;t been paid, their debtors will sue the estate or whomever they leave money, for the debt. Retirement accounts and life insurance have seperate beneficiaries and are not subject to these rules.

If my parents die with balances on their credit cards will I have to pay them even though I am not listed?

ditto, no, you won%26#039;t have to pay. It%26#039;s paid from their estate.

If my parents die with balances on their credit cards will I have to pay them even though I am not listed?

No, their estate will have to pay, if you are the executor of their estate then their creditor can come to you and request a payment.

Does Iraq not use credit ? Do they not accept credit cards ?

No, Iraq does not accept credit or debit cards. The primary reason is that they do not have the IT or electronic transfer/validation capabilities (infrastructure in place). Also, don%26#039;t plan on using Traveler%26#039;s Checks in Iraq or in most off the Arab countries. When I brought some to Kuwait with me prior to my working in Iraq, the hotel (a major hotel) wouldn%26#039;t accept them. The Kuwaiti Bank I have an accout with said I could deposit them but it would take up to 6 months before they cleared. I signed them and sent them to my USA bank to deposit!

In Iraq I worked primarily on US military bases and you could us credit cards, debit cards, TC%26#039;s and even personal checks. The military and AFFES (the military PX/BX) had a system set up to accomplish this capability.

Iraq is basically as CASH %26amp; CARRY or bartar economy. And they prefer US dollars or Kuwati Dinar vs. the new Iraqi dinar.

Does Iraq not use credit ? Do they not accept credit cards ?

They do accept credit. In 2005 visa was instituted in the country and initially issued 30,000 credit cards. not sure how frequently they are used though, but they are accepted.

How do you get a credit increase on credit cards? Need an extra 2,0000.00?

You can call them and ask, but be VERY careful to not get into a debt that you cannot afford to pay back. Realize that you would be better off getting a loan for $2K from a bank. Your interest would be much lower.

To many people increase credit limits then end up over their heads.

Best of luck, I hope you can find another way.

How do you get a credit increase on credit cards? Need an extra 2,0000.00?

Call and ask them if they will increase your limit. If your payment history is good they may increase it. If you have made lates etc. they will not.

How do you get a credit increase on credit cards? Need an extra 2,0000.00?

Call them and ask.

If you have been paying good and have had the card for a while, they may raise it for you.

How do you get a credit increase on credit cards? Need an extra 2,0000.00?

In most case you can just phone them, they run a credit report, review your payment history with them, ask if there any changes to your employment. You should know pretty quickly too.

Hope this helps

How do you get a credit increase on credit cards? Need an extra 2,0000.00?

You can do that over the phone. They will ask you for your salary, your profession, how long you%26#039;re at the job, monthly rent or mortgage etc.. Sometimes you get an instant credit increase, other times, they check your credit report and let you know on the spot if you%26#039;re qualified. If not, they tell you that you%26#039;ll get a letter in the mail that means you were denied.

How do you get a credit increase on credit cards? Need an extra 2,0000.00?

Do you need $20,000.00 or 2,000.00 increase ?

If you want to increase 20,000.00 you must have to have a huge salary to support this increase. If you only need 2,000.00, it%26#039;s easy to get an increase by calling the credit card company. You will know in less than 10 minutes.

Are there any internet sites that dont process credit cards as soon as they are given.?

and send you your purchases anyway even if the crdit card is denied

Are there any internet sites that dont process credit cards as soon as they are given.?

The first part of your question is somewhat loaded. A website might not actually process and charge your card right away depending on ability to deliver product immediately and other factors. Lots of nuances to describe, but I suspect you are not interested in this.

The second part, which I believe is the meat of your question, is somewhat simpler. I can%26#039;t imagine why anyone would deliver merchandise or services to someone if the credit card used was denied. If an authorization is declined the merchant will have no recourse to collect funds from the purchaser if they deliver the product.

Unless you find a website that is in the business of LOSING money, you are not going to find a way to make a purchase in this manner.

Are there any internet sites that dont process credit cards as soon as they are given.?

Most process in real time. No one gets anything for free except maybe this answer.

Are there any internet sites that dont process credit cards as soon as they are given.?

Absolutely not!

A merchant would be foolish to do business that way and would constantly get ripped off.

Transactions are processed in real time, and batched out daily. All merchants verify if the card is authorized or declined BEFORE they send out merchandise.

Can i have my credit reoport debt consalidated without credit cards?

what do you mean - your credit report is going to show each and every account and their history - you can%26#039;t hide anything or combine accounts on it - that doesn%26#039;t make any sense. If you have bad accounts, you have to live with it for at least 7 years after the last month you%26#039;re no longer behind in each individual account

Can i have my credit reoport debt consalidated without credit cards?

There is a great place to go with this. I was in a very similar situation.

This is getting help from real people without the use of banks or credit card companies. Good Luck!

Is it better for your credit to close credit cards with no balance or leave them open?

if you have alot of credit cards then close a couple... too much credit is just as bad as not enough credit..... if you only have a few credit cards then keep them open....... it raises your fico score....

Is it better for your credit to close credit cards with no balance or leave them open?

Leave them open, unusued.

If you close them, your debt to available credit ratio increases.

Is it better for your credit to close credit cards with no balance or leave them open?

If you are not using the card, close it.

Lenders will count the credit limit on that card against you.

Is it better for your credit to close credit cards with no balance or leave them open?

Leave them open. It%26#039;s a good idea to use them from time to time for a small purchase just to keep them open.

Is it better for your credit to close credit cards with no balance or leave them open?

depends...will you ever use them? how is your debt to income ratio?

How do i verify the legality and legitimacy of ameritrust credit cards and why do i need to pay them

why do i need to pay them 200 in money order just to get the card since they were the one who called, offered and approved me

How do i verify the legality and legitimacy of ameritrust credit cards and why do i need to pay them 200 in m?

S C A M

I see complaints on them pretty regular

How do i verify the legality and legitimacy of ameritrust credit cards and why do i need to pay them 200 in m?

Don%26#039;t waste your money. Probably most of the 200 you send them will be applied against %26quot;fees%26quot;.

How do i verify the legality and legitimacy of ameritrust credit cards and why do i need to pay them 200 in m?

Reputable credit card companies (if there are any) don%26#039;t charge for issuing a card; they%26#039;re only too happy to give you one to get their hooks into you.

My advice is don%26#039;t use credit cards, pay cash, or at least use a debit card from your bank, which is much more efficient. Try not to waste money paying interest, or even rent if possible.

Sounds like you%26#039;re on at least one sucker list. Ignore all the junk mail you%26#039;re getting; it%26#039;s from scam artists.

Capital One credit cards are pretty good. If you just have a part-.time job....they really don%26#039;t require that you make over 18,000.00

a year...so give them a try....I%26#039;d start with just 1 card... they also start you with a 300.00 limit which will increase rather fast to 500 and then 1000 depending on your payment history...usually after six months...good luck

You think Chase and Citibank credit cards didnt send a bill reminder email so they can charge late f

This month I did not receive a reminder to check my statement. They keep sending you email to enroll solely in electronic communication so you have no record.

I always pay in full and on time and I use the maximum of their rewards programs, so I%26#039;m probably not a profitable customer for them. With all the financial trouble lately, I wouldn%26#039;t be surprised if someone in the chain %26#039;ordered%26#039; someone to do something. I know Chase and Citibank are the type of companies where bottom line is very important and if a fraction of the people don%26#039;t reverse / notice the charge, then it would be very profitable for the particular group in this financial quarters results.

Anyone notice this? You can google credit card stories on how they will wait until the last minute to post your payment, so they can hit you with the fees.

This to me seems like a good way to also do it. %26quot;We sent the email, our records say! Pay the late fee!%26quot;

And yes I checked my junk mail box.

You think Chase and Citibank credit cards didnt send a bill reminder email so they can charge late fees?

Citibank is scum. If you are 5 minutes late they will raise your rate to 23% and charge you 39 bucks, even if you are a long standing solid paying customer. They are only interested in stealing every penny they can from your pocket andf then doing any damage they can to you. I have switched to a lower rate card and am telling evryone I can find to do the same. Doesn%26#039;t matter, even if they don%26#039;t bill you they still expect payment. You are ALWAYS wrong, no matter how wrong THEY are. They are an poutstanding example of whats wrong with american business today.

You think Chase and Citibank credit cards didnt send a bill reminder email so they can charge late fees?

Hmmm, interesting idea. Never thought about it... and I was recently considering getting a Chase credit card.. but now I think I will reconsider.

If they are going to be THAT kind of company.. maybe you should just take your business elsewhere.

You think Chase and Citibank credit cards didnt send a bill reminder email so they can charge late fees?

Actually, the fact that you don%26#039;t receive a bill or notice doesn%26#039;t release you from the obligation of paying a bill on time. Some billing notices state that in very fine print on the bill itself. They are within their rights to impose a late fee regardless of why you didn%26#039;t get your payment in on time. In certain situations, they will make an exception and waive the fee if it%26#039;s not a regular habit.

While I think this practice is unethical, whether they use it or not is irrelevant because in the end, it%26#039;s up to the consumer to keep on top of these things.

Good luck.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

I have more credit card debt than I am comfortable with. The warning bells are going off in my head. I%26#039;ve built it up slowly over time with the small stuff and the occasional big item or purchase (like a TV and some emergency home repairs)

I owe about $16,000 to 7 different companies, some larger balances, some small.

I am able to make the payments, but I just don%26#039;t like the amount I%26#039;ve reached. If I allocate a certain amount each month to credit card payments, should I try to pay off the smaller balances and get rid of them or just spread it around evenly? My score is excellent so I wouldn%26#039;t consider a %26quot;counseling%26quot; program.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

I have developed credit card debt too with being on maternity leave and being single (I cant%26#039; live on 60% of what I was making and maternity is only 60%!! ok, lol.. enought jusifing). I am very good with money and know that I will pay it off. For the min. payment, I just use one credit card to pay off the min. payment on another. I do that every month... But soon I will be able to actually PAY it off as I will be done maternity:)): So my adivse is to pay off the min. payments with other cards (that will nickle and dime you if pay those out of your pocket!). Than just pay off one card at a time./

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

First, put the cards away and stop charging. Second, make sure you keep up at least minimum payments on all accounts. Third, pay off the highest interest rates first. If you can transfer some balances onto existing cards with a lower rate, do so.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

go to a debt consolidator.. click on the link below

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en%26amp;sa=X%26amp;...

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

call the credit card companies and ask for a lower interest rate because you are attempting to pay it way down, usually you can get at least a few points off. then pay as much as you can on the card with the highest balance, when that is paid down then do the same on the next card with the highest balance and so forth.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

You fell for their game. You can%26#039;t spend more than you make o.k. it%26#039;s really that simple. Pay only with cash for a week so you can really see how fast you spend it. That should show you that money in cyberspace is not on a card its on you working hard.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

Definitely pay off the small stuff if you can do it quickly.

You should look at your interest rates. If you have a large bill with high interest, try to transfer it to a credit card with a lower interest rate.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

Pay off smallest debt cards first to alleviate you of that interest...then attack the larger balances with making more than the monthly required amount...if you can%26#039;t handle double or triple payments...even $5 or $10 extra makes a difference as every dollar extra is going on the principal and not being eaten up with interest. Once you get these cards paid off...keep ONE major credit card, and use it sparingly...don%26#039;t charge an item until the first item is paid off. This system works! I was in worse financial strain than you...now I%26#039;m debt free except for a mortgage, and have a great credit rating

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

some say go for the higher interest rate cards first this way your saving more in interest payments over the long run but that%26#039;s them when your ready to get serious about being debt free pay the minimum amount to all but one, the lowest balance first. this way you will have a nice feeling of accomplishment then take that payment and apply it to the next lower one now your making progress keep it up and soon your dept free.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

First, stop using them. Start using cash whenever possible. That way, you%26#039;ll at least slow down the amount of interest you%26#039;re paying. The extra interest you pay will slow down how long it takes to pay them off. So use cash as much as possible and credit cards as little as possible.

If you get any offers in the mail for a credit card with 0% interest on balance transfers until November of 2008 (or later), apply for the credit card and transfer as much as you can from the cards you have that are charging the highest interest rates. Then, when you get that card, stick it in a drawer somewhere and never use it. Making the minimum payments on that card as long as the 0% rate lasts or until you have it paid off (whichever comes first).

After you do that, pay off the card with the lowest balance on it as fast as possible. Making the minimum payments on the other cards if you must in order to do this. Once that card is paid off, you should get some kind of offer from that card to transfer your balances with a lower rate. Once you get that offer, transfer as much of the balances as you can from your cards that charge the highest amount of interest.

Next, make the minimum payments on the cards with the lowest interest rates, and pay as much as you can on the cards that charge the highest interest rate.

Ideally, you want to get into a situation where you have your entire debt on a card with no interest. If you must use a credit card for anything, use a credit card that has no balance on it, and pay that balance off at each billing cycle. Make the minimum payments you can on the card with 0% while still being able to pay off the credit card with new purchases on it.

As you get cards paid off, cancel them. You should only need one or two credit cards.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

Step 1: WRITE a budget. Until you are spending LESS than you EARN, NO plan will reduce your debt.

Step 2: Pay the MINIMUM on all but on debt.

Step 3: Pay as much as you can on the one debt.

Step 4: Once the first debt is paid, add the payments from that debt the the next on the list.

Depending on who you ask, you should either pay off the smallest balance first or the highest interest rate first. Whichever order you pick, concentrate on ONE debt at a time.

What is the best way to pay down credit cards?

Bad credit debt consolidation loans are quite popular with those with poor credit history. If your loan application is rejected by a lender, bad credit debt consolidation loans are there to help. If you want to repair your credit history by repaying a loan, which has simple terms and low monthly installments, again bad credit debt consolidation loans are for you. They save you after rejection and help you regain your financial credibility, so that you can again enter the mainstream credit market.

Bad credit debt consolidation loans are of two types:

1. Secured bad credit debt consolidation loans:

These types of bad credit debt consolidation loans are secured by a collateral usually some property or a guarantor. Since, the lenders find something to bank upon in case you default on payments, the interest rates on secured bad credit debt consolidation loans are cheaper, the lending amounts are higher and the repayment period can be long.

2. Unsecured bad credit debt consolidation loans:

Persons who do not have anything to offer as the collateral or security, can take unsecured bad credit debt consolidation loans. The lenders find themselves at increasing level of risk while giving such loans. The existing bad credit situation and lack of a collateral, make them charge high interest rates and offer low loan amounts to offset the risk involved. But, a person who has a bad credit and cannot provide a collateral has little choice, but to take these high interest loans. At least by repaying these the borrower can rebuild his credit history. Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

I%26#039;m contemplating on swtching to capital one from my current credit card but my friend told me not to. They said once I applied with Capital One, they mess around with my credit scores. I have an excellent credit scores and am thinking on getting a new car here pretty soon and a house next year. So I don%26#039;t really want to risk jeopardizing my credit scores just for it. However Capital has credit card withan awesome APR and benefits compare to my current ones. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

Capital One disclosed on the application that there was no annual fee. They charge an annual fee, and tell you it is disclosed on the statement. They also do several inquiries to your credit report to maintain their records and review your current credit status. Some of these appear as %26quot;hard%26quot; inquiries and lower your credit score. There are better deals out there with honest banks. I have a Capital One card, but hate that they lied to me.

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

I only use Capital One and I am very happy. My APR is fair, customer service has been awesome and easy to understand.

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

Yes. I had. The Annual Percentage rate is really high, but I had a low paying job, so now I regret closing the account because my sister is almost finished paying off her balance.

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

I have a Capital One...because there are the only credit card that doesn%26#039;t charge fees if you use it overseas, but there do not report the right kind of figures to the credit bureau...that the difference...but if you have already good credit its no problem...

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

I would NEVER get a Capital One card again!!! They are the worst! I hate their stupid commercials everytime I see them, because that company is so full of BS! They will do whatever underhanded, sneaky thing they have to do to destroy your credit rating and cause you outrageous fees!! If you want to keep your credit score high, then pass them up. Ever heard of too good to be true?

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

They are one of the best cards i have ever had. Low interest, good customer service.

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

My Capital One card is good, and I am happy with it so far.

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

I am glad some people have had a positive experience with

Capital One. While I was quickly approved for an auto loan at a good rate in the past the company was terrible. I had no credit history 9 years ago but I also had no debt and made good money and so after numerous letters(solicitations) in the mail from Capital One I applied. Not only did I get rejected, they would send several letters(solicitations) a week to me. After enough insult to injury I just started sending them %26quot;return to sender%26quot; which worked until last year. Be wary of them and other credit card companies, the bottom line is profit at all costs even if means ruining a few people%26#039;s credit along the way. Also, keep in mind humans have nothing to do with the credit cards, it is virtually all managed by risk management computer systems that make decisions about your credit worthiness.

Be careful.

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

Capital One was my first credit card six years ago. They have been good to me. But, for the best credit card for abroad, Nationwide, does not charge currency conversion fee, and usually you get the bank base rate, which is much higher than the tourist rate. However, if you wish to balance transfer, Cap. One are doing a good 5.94% apr. and just in case unlike me, you let yourself have to pay the minimum payment, it is worth the small amount. They have 0% interest all transfers until the 18th of this month, so be quick. they also have a freephone, which is better than the usual 0845 number. Good luck.Capital One are as sound as not YOUR POUND (ha). very good card. o.k. p.s. never go near MBNA BANK I.E. VIRGIN, ALLIANCE LIECESTER, THEY CHANGE THE RULES. CAP ONE. DO NOT.

Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

What Roger was getting at (I think it is anyway) is that Cap One does not report your credit limit. They only report your high balance, which makes it look like you have over utilitzed the card and you are constantly charging it up to your credit limit.

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

I applied on line %26amp; some credit card companies ask me for deposits some deny me for the fact that i have insufficient credit history, waht can I do. I have no open credits i have nothing ...help?

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

Try a local credit union or bank. Open an account with them and stay in good standing for a time. Then get a credit card with them. The interest rate will be much lower and there are usually no application fees, etc. that other companies try to rip you off with.

I gave this advice to my daughter who had no credit rating yet. She has a card from her own credit union now and is not being ripped off.

Best Wishes,

Sue

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

Go to your bank or credit union and ask for a credit card with a LOW amount, like $300.00. Use it and pay it off a few times. After about 6 months you will have a credit base. My first card was JC Penny, they give one to just about anyone, but be careful because the interest rate on their card is high, so don%26#039;t charge too much. Be careful with credit cards, you can get into a lot of trouble really fast. If you won%26#039;t be able to pay it off in a month or two, don%26#039;t buy it.

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

You may want to start with a department store card. They are usually easy to get. You may need to get a secure card, many companies have them, but it does require a deposit. First start to check your local bank or credit union.

If you are a student, it may be a little easier. American Express Blue, Discover, Citicards, and Chase have good student cards. Try getting a charge card (American Express is good), where you pay the total at the end of the month. That can help build your credit.

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

Look,here%26#039;s what you do.It%26#039;s going to take time. If you have a job, start saving some money and when you get about $500.00 together, open an interest bearing savings account. Each payday, deposit $25.00 ,and don%26#039;t touch this money for one year.

At the beginning of the next year, take that money and open a checking account with a debit card (Mastercard,Visa). The only way the card works is if you have money in the account. Again,don%26#039;t touch this money and keep making your deposits, including one third of your tax refund in there to to give you a boost. This money is not only growing interest, you will be able to use it as collateral for credit.

Believe me it takes some will power because knowing you have this money makes it tempting to go spend it. DON%26#039;T fall for those department store cards or bank card offers. Read the fine print. Stay with your debit card

If you don%26#039;t have the cash for it,save till you do to pay for it.

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

All of these people are giving you BAD advise. The correct anser is YOU DON%26#039;T NEED CREDIT!!!

most people in this country are living paycheck to paycheck and are 7k to 10k in debt. They live in a cycle of always paying credit card bills, car payments and are still paying interest on a pizza they ate 4 yeasrs ago!

Do the right thing... save up and pay for things in cash. With the exception of a home mortgage, credit and debt is for people who can%26#039;t delay gratification. As a result they will never acheive financial independence.

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

You were advised to get a bank deposit - it is a right thing to do. And a secured credit card is also a good way to establish your credit history. But you may also ask somebody (your parent or relative or a friend) to cosign for a card with you. But this person should have good credit. He applies for a good credit card and signs you up as a cosigner. You are both responsible for the credit, and you should be very responsible for this person, too.

My friends did like this, and it worked. I saw them applying for a credit card online here:

I am just starting credit ,I need to know what is the starter credit cards out there?

There are 2 ways to do this one way is to look for a credit card that is geared for people such as yourself who are either trying to establish credit or trying to rebuild it. My experiences with this type of card has been very good. especially with Orchard Bank, http://www.orchardbank.com However another method is by going out and applying for a card with a department store suich as Sears, JC Penney or a Gas Card. This option not only allows you to build credit because they report to the same Credit Bureaus as the Major Credit Cards do, but limits you to only purchasing at that store so the impulse buying associated with Visa/MC etc is not as bad. MOst people, including me had their first Credit card with a department store. Mine was a JC Penney card, which I still carry. I hope this helps

There may be something of use here.

What happens when debts from credit cards or past due rent go into collections? How does repayment o

a credit card company hired a law firm to collect my past due amount. I%26#039;m sure i%26#039;ll have other things going into collections as well, including past due rent. I lost my job and cant afford to pay all of these people what they want and they wont accept what I can give them. So I%26#039;m curious about what happens when past due amounts go into collections.

What happens when debts from credit cards or past due rent go into collections? How does repayment of it work?

You%26#039;ll get hounded by very official looking mailings that will try to intimidate you into paying up NOW. The collection agencies get a percentage of the amount they do collect, and are more likely to negotiate with you on terms rather than get a percentage of nothing.

The big credit cards will just write off the debt (unless it%26#039;s really large, then they may come after you). Your landlord, if he%26#039;s an independent rather than a corporation may be hurting for the money. See if you can negotiate (don%26#039;t forget, new landlords are more likely to call former landlords to get a reference)

Ok, so you lost your job... are you actively looking for another? I hope so!

What happens when debts from credit cards or past due rent go into collections? How does repayment of it work?

Besides the phone calls and letters - they can%26#039;t do much. They can go after your paycheck and certain properties through the courts of course to collect what%26#039;s due to them. The best you can due is to work with the collectors (calmly) to reduce the payments that you have to make.

What happens when debts from credit cards or past due rent go into collections? How does repayment of it work?

You will be allowed to make repayment on the credit cards plus additional fees from the collection company and they will work with you if you call them for a reasonable payment plan. However it will show up on your credit report as paid debt and can bring your credit score down. With your landlord, you can make arrangements if they have not taken you to court yet. If so, then you will be given at least 30 days to move out and the debt will be on your credit report lessening the chance of you being able to rent an apartment again and I think it remains on your credit report for ten years.

What happens when debts from credit cards or past due rent go into collections? How does repayment of it work?

When you get notice from the collection agency call them and set up a payment plan. Make sure you don%26#039;t miss any payments after that point. If they do not agree with the payment plan let them take you to court.

What happens when debts from credit cards or past due rent go into collections? How does repayment of it work?

Negative payment is probably already posted on your credit report. So in essence...if they are using a collection service, no harm, they rarely sue. But, check your credit report anyway.

As for the rent, you may face eviction, so in essence try to get the rent situation taken care of first. Try to work it out with the landlord. If he doens%26#039;t seem keen on the idea. MOVE OUT before your eviction court date. Landlord legally can%26#039;t evict someone out of the apartment. Just go to court and say, I%26#039;m already out of the property. If you receive an eviction notice. Show up otherwise, the landlord can lie and say you are still on the property. This can affect you renting another apartment, as most landlords get nervous when they have tenents with eviction records

Aswell, if he files an eviction notice, he may sue for rent, but most landlords will not show up if the tenet if off the property and he knows you are broke, they just want they%26#039;re property back

Blue for Students- American Express credit cards?

Not sure

Blue for Students- American Express credit cards?

Here is a quick primer about credit cards.

Pros for American Express:

American Express cards typically have more features (purchase protection, promotions, extended warranty, rewards, etc.) than other cards.

Cons for American Express:

There is growing acceptance of AMEX cards at businesses, but not as much as Visa or Mastercard.

General info about student cards

The pro with a student card is that you don%26#039;t have to show income and more likely to be approved for one. You are going to be hit with a higher interest rate to start off with.

General info abour credit cards

Always look for your interest rate and annual fee. You also want to check if they use universal default and/or two-cycle billing. This information would typically be in the fine print. Universal default is where a creditor will raise your rate due to a late payment (30 days or more) with another creditor even if you have a good record with everyone else. Two-cycle billing is calculating your interest based on your average daily balance over two billing cycles).

Blue for Students- American Express credit cards?

Its a very good card. But a lot places don%26#039;t accept them.

American Express isn%26#039;t accepted as much as Visa or Mastercard. I recommend the Chase student flexible student rewards card if you are a student. Chase was my first credit card and it has helped me build my credit.

What if your canadian, any suggestions there for getting store credit cards????

I see lots on here for the US but nothing on canada for people who have poor credit... so my question is where can you go to get a store credit card in canada when you have poor credit ???

What if your canadian, any suggestions there for getting store credit cards????

Monica is right, you should apply for a secured credit card. In addition to Hometrust and HorizonPlus (which ARE options but would not be my first choice in this respect) I%26#039;d suggest a few other options.

Capital One and Citizens Bank (see below) as both are secured cards exactly like Hometrust and HorizonPlus, but where they differ is that both cards can be converted to %26quot;normal%26quot; unsecured cards if your payment and usage history warrants it after a year

Hometrust and Horizon Plus will ALWAYS be secured cards, and can never be converted to unsecured cards, which means a year or two down the road you will have to either continue paying for the cards or cancel your oldest positive credit entry (which will affect your score).

Now Capital One should be your first choice as their maximum security deposit is $300, and they will issue a credit line of up to $750 on their secured cards (in some cases only requiring 10% security), Citizens Bank should be your second but they will require a 100% deposit (with a $500 minimum).

If all else fails Horizon Plus (100% deposit required, $500 minimum) and Hometrust (100% deposit required, $1000 minimum) will still be there waiting to take your money.

Good Luck!

Citizens Bank Info:

%26quot;To apply for a Citizens Bank Secured VISA, call us directly at 1.888.708.7800 to open a term deposit with the amount equivalent to the credit limit that you wish to have on your Citizens Bank Secured VISA. This term will be held for at least 12 months. After 12 months, your Citizens Bank Secured VISA account will be automatically reviewed to see if you qualify for an unsecured Citizens Bank VISA.%26quot;

What if your canadian, any suggestions there for getting store credit cards????

You should get the secured credit cards from Home Trust and Horizon Plus. You have to deposit money and then they will issue you credit cards for the same amount. One of my friend has $1000 credit cards from both of them. You will be restablishing your credit and your FICO score will improve in about a year and then you can get regular bank and department cards like Bay or Zellers. They charge annual fee so that is a negative but you will have Visa and Master Card and will be rebuilding credit.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

for the last 4 years I have been paying around 1 pound per month too each credit card company, but the last 4 months nothing.

All I get is the same old letter demanding money, what will happen next? I have no assets what so ever and now earn minimum wage with 2 kids.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Declare yourself bankrupt

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Unlucky! You need to get in touch with debtdirect.co.uk or another debt buster company, they can help sort this out.

Whatever you spend on the cards - you always need to pay it back - there is no way out. Remember this in future.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

go and get some debt advice (try citizens advice). the credit companies will never wipe the debt off for you. best to face the reality of it now before it gets worse.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

You need to take professional advice. Try the CAB.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

What the bloody HELL have you been buying??

Great example for your children, bozo....

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

A court case and you will be told to pay as much as you can afford, probably work out you will be paying it for the rest of your life at the rate of about 鎷? or so a week.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Option 1 - carry on paying 鎷? per month and eventually they will all take you to court and you can get a judgement for 鎷? per week. Only problems- it will take longer than your lifetime to reapy it and they may attach your wages (if you brought home 鎷?55 that means they would tak 鎷?2 from your wage for each creditor that attaches )

option 2 - wait until you get a massive pay rise and go back to making above minimum payments - it would still take you years

option 3 - if you think that at any time in the reasonable future (6 months ish) you will have a disposable income at the end of the month - go for an IVA, like they advertise on tv

option 4 - if you have no assets and little income and its likely to stay this way (and you rent your home) go bankrupt.

Go to CAB or CCCS they will explain this in detail and advise you which is best for you.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Holy ****!

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

You need an exit strategy and quick! Take legal advice, talk to those who know this subject or have been in your position.

A smart person can turn this around...........

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

My husband owed a large amount of money (ex wife ripped him off) he went bankrupt was the best thing he did go to your local county court and speak with someone there they will advise you and you can decide if it%26#039;s the right way for you.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

You must have a credit agency in the UK that you can go and speak to.

They can call the credit card companies and usually get your interest rates lowered and work out a payment plan with the credit card companies. They may even be able to roll all your cards over into a loan so you are only paying one company instead of many.

You will still have to pay the debt but it will be more manageable and at least eventually it will be paid off.

They generally make you hand your cards over to them and destroy them and cancel them.DO NOT get any new cards and any extra money you receive, even as a gift, use it to pay down your debt.

You may even have to declare bankruptcy. You really need professional advice on this.

Good Luck...by the way,you might also consider getting some therapy to find out why you feel the need to spend.

It is an addiction in many cases...it somehow fills a need we feel we have.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

What the bloody HELL does this have to do with cars? Is that what you%26#039;ve been buying? Or are just running up a bill trying to keep an MG running?

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Looks like it%26#039;s the credit cards problem, not yours, you owe them the money, they cant make you pay anymore than you can afford, and if it did go to court the judge would be on your side, thats why credit cards companys never really want to take you to court,

But the credit card companys always try to frighten you with going to court.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

I have owed around 80000 for around 3yrs.You will get a million letters from debt collectors but if you have no assets

they are f**ked. If you live in england you can make yourself

bankrupt I live in scotland and I have to wait until they take me to court.Which they wont. They will play the waiting game

as I have no assets either.

One very key thing change your phone number as they will

drive you bananas once debt agencies start phoning.Good

luck.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

damn get a business loan from the bank and start a company hopefully it will be sucessfull

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

I have to say spartacus--a SMART person would not have gotten into this mess in the first place, not by this amount at least!! %26#039;If you can%26#039;t afford it--don%26#039;t buy it %26#039;til you can afford it%26#039; is a wise maxim from the %26#039;50%26#039;s/60%26#039;s--and still it holds true today.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Have to say its a bit of a surprize to owe that amount of money and still have no assets The least i would expect is a ferarri tucked away I think its more the credit card company than yours, they must have kept upping your credit even on non payment. They really do want taking to task for this as its only short term happiness Still best of luck and try to keep your chin up,at least public hanging is now an offence Be lucky

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

You were doing the smart thing by sending something every month. As a general rule in most industrialized countries, if the creditor accepts the token payment, they can take no further action, at least for that month; you%26#039;ve put yourself in an awkward situation by not sending in at least a token payment.

Send in something, anything, every month; it may keep you out of court. In the meantime cut up the credit cards, and seek credit counselling, perhaps to lower the payments to something you can afford; or seek bankruptcy protection, so you won%26#039;t lose your home.

And if you continue to use your kids as a defense against paying your debts you can lose custody of them. Not a smart thing to do.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Sheesh, puts my bills into the small bracket!

Get yourself declared bankrupt, seek advice before your home, furniture, etc are placed into an auction for non payment!

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

serves you right i hope you get all your possesions took of you didnt you realise you have to pay it back

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

鎷?03K debt and no assets? Are you sure? How on earth has the bank ever let you build up a credit bill that high?

If you really and truly have no assets (car, house, mortgage) then you really need to be thinking about bankruptcy. If you don%26#039;t have it, then they can%26#039;t take it. The only reason to carry on paying a token amount each month would be to safeguard your house and keep the wolves from the door, and frankly, even if they did take your house, the local council would be obilged to provide you with accomodation, so it%26#039;s not like you%26#039;d be out on the streets, and bankruptcy these days only lasts a year.

Even so, the judge will want to know exactly how you%26#039;ve managed to blow 鎷?03K and have nothing to show for it before he stamps that little piece of paper. I would try and dcelare bankruptcy now, before your creditors do it for you. It%26#039;s really not worth worrying about. Bankruptcy is not the stigma it once was.

I owe 103,000 on credit cards?

Do you write "check ID" on your credit cards, then wait for the server to ask for it?

Why don%26#039;t you give ID with the credit card??

Do you write %26quot;check ID%26quot; on your credit cards, then wait for the server to ask for it?

People who do that are sooo obnoxious.

Do you write %26quot;check ID%26quot; on your credit cards, then wait for the server to ask for it?

I do and I alwasy stop the person If they dont ask for it

Why do so many businesses only accept credit cards?

Some people may not want to spend too much of their avaiable credit and want to pay with money order. Others may not have a card or are in debt with one. The business would make more money if they allowed more methods of payment. Win/win. So why don%26#039;t they?

Why do so many businesses only accept credit cards?

The cost of dealing with bounced checks, and money orders which might be stolen or forged, that have to be written off as uncollectable can exceed and profit from additional sales. Remember: if the check is good, the store gets the profit; if it%26#039;s bad, the store loses the whole transaction amount. It%26#039;s better to have it charged and thus guaranteed by the bank.

Besides, people with credit card problems are more likely have bank account problems. People who don%26#039;t have a credit card don%26#039;t make very good customers anyway.

Why do so many businesses only accept credit cards?

I know of no business that doesn%26#039;t accept cash...it might even be illegal. I guess it depends on where you live though.

Why do so many businesses only accept credit cards?

I think this is the way of the future as to many places get robbed ,by using a card there is no cash in the till there fore lowering the risk of being robbed

Why do so many businesses only accept credit cards?

I think most businesses will gladly accept cash, and most companies will also allow you to pay by check.

You might have to go to the bank where you have an account and get a bank check (also known as a cashier%26#039;s check) if you really can%26#039;t get them to accept any other form of payment.

Why do so many businesses only accept credit cards?

Another option would be to use cash, or even a debit card. A debit card is similar to a credit card, but it is linked to your checking account. I would be willing to bet almost ALL places that accept credit cards will accept debit cards.

What exactly happens when you don't pay anything to credit cards for several months?

I have had a situation in my life happen that has cause me to lose my job and I have not paid my cc bills for about 6 months now. I had about 12 thousand that i owed and i had it at an intrest rate of around 10%. I am sure that that is not that case now but what happens now? My credit was also very good before this situation but is it totally screwed up now and what will need to be done to get it back to a good credit score again? I found out that I have bipolar and have had a lot of trouble with many things in my life lately and I am even scared to answer the phone when the credit card company%26#039;s call me. Please help give me some kind of idea how bad this financial situation is for me.

What exactly happens when you don%26#039;t pay anything to credit cards for several months?

Your account will be charged off (or already has been) and then sold to a collection agency, or referred to the creditor%26#039;s collection group.

Right now, however, you have an income crisis. Don%26#039;t worry about the credit card bills right now. You need to first work on getting some work to start bringing in income. Once that is taken care of then you can focus your attention on paying off your debt.

Now the collection group will call and whine and complain, and possibly make threats of legal action, but until they get a judgment against you they really can%26#039;t do anything. So don%26#039;t let them get you emotional when they call. If you feel yourself getting upset simply hang up. They will be fine.

What exactly happens when you don%26#039;t pay anything to credit cards for several months?

bipolar? you poor thing. my mum has had it for ever, and is locke din mental institutions on and off blah blah... you MAY be able to do something about that, because you cant help it..?? ask until you get the answer you want coz from mental illness you can be excused for a lot of things... apart fromt hat, i did that too, with credit cards... basically, until its paid you will have a bad credit rating, you will now have a HUGE bill you will need to get on top of (go to a doctor, preferably psychiatrist, tell them and ask for them to help yoou, maybe aletter to the credit card company to let you off the extra interest??? it will work if you dont take no for an answer and push, because it was absolutely not your fault). the credit card company will call and call to get their money, and if they dont they will either try to repossess some of your assets in one form or another.... bugger.... i reckon go the letter from the doctor... you have a diagnosis, it shouldnt be too hard. i feel for you, and good luck :)

What exactly happens when you don%26#039;t pay anything to credit cards for several months?

Right now your credit score is probably really bad. What you need to do is call all of your credit card companies and let them know what is going on. See if you can set up payment plans with them. More than likely they have sent you to collections so see if you can work with the credit card company not the collection company.

What exactly happens when you don%26#039;t pay anything to credit cards for several months?

First off, I am sorry to hear that you are going thru this.

Is there any chance that you can get professional help with your bipolar disorder?

If you get help (It could be medicine or talk therapy), you can see the other things more clearly.

To calm you, there is no debtor%26#039;s prison. By that I mean that you are not going to have to face going to jail for not paying your bills.

What they will do eventually is either take you to court or they will charge it off.

Either way your credit score as you know willl take a nose dive but you should not worry about that when a much more pressing matter is on the horizon.

YOU MUST GET TO A DOCTOR.

Most often depression does NOT get treated on its own...it only gets worse

get the help and then you can worry about the finances after that.

Can you file for unemployment?

Where you fired in a manner that you think might be worthy of a lawsuit?

You are going to have to get some income not so much to pay these bills but the make sure you dont spiral downward to homelessness etc.

What exactly happens when you don%26#039;t pay anything to credit cards for several months?

They only accept money... they don%26#039;t accept EXCUSES... so your credit score will drop out of sight and you will never be able to get credit again.

Mental Illness.. that is what BIPOLAR is called.. MENTAL ILLNESS... is not an excuse.

It will take you YEARS to build your credit back.. and WHY DON%26#039;T YOU HAVE A JOB?... you will need a JOB to start building your credit back.
