Has anyone ever have/had a bad experiences with CAPITAL ONE credit cards?

I%26#039;m contemplating on swtching to capital one from my current credit card but my friend told me not to. They said once I applied with Capital One, they mess around with my credit scores. I have an excellent credit scores and am thinking on getting a new car here pretty soon and a house next year. So I don%26#039;t really want to risk jeopardizing my credit scores just for it. However Capital has credit card withan awesome APR and benefits compare to my current ones. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Capital One disclosed on the application that there was no annual fee. They charge an annual fee, and tell you it is disclosed on the statement. They also do several inquiries to your credit report to maintain their records and review your current credit status. Some of these appear as %26quot;hard%26quot; inquiries and lower your credit score. There are better deals out there with honest banks. I have a Capital One card, but hate that they lied to me.

I only use Capital One and I am very happy. My APR is fair, customer service has been awesome and easy to understand.

Yes. I had. The Annual Percentage rate is really high, but I had a low paying job, so now I regret closing the account because my sister is almost finished paying off her balance.

I have a Capital One...because there are the only credit card that doesn%26#039;t charge fees if you use it overseas, but there do not report the right kind of figures to the credit bureau...that the difference...but if you have already good credit its no problem...

I would NEVER get a Capital One card again!!! They are the worst! I hate their stupid commercials everytime I see them, because that company is so full of BS! They will do whatever underhanded, sneaky thing they have to do to destroy your credit rating and cause you outrageous fees!! If you want to keep your credit score high, then pass them up. Ever heard of too good to be true?

Capital One. While I was quickly approved for an auto loan at a good rate in the past the company was terrible. I had no credit history 9 years ago but I also had no debt and made good money and so after numerous letters(solicitations) in the mail from Capital One I applied. Not only did I get rejected, they would send several letters(solicitations) a week to me. After enough insult to injury I just started sending them %26quot;return to sender%26quot; which worked until last year. Be wary of them and other credit card companies, the bottom line is profit at all costs even if means ruining a few people%26#039;s credit along the way. Also, keep in mind humans have nothing to do with the credit cards, it is virtually all managed by risk management computer systems that make decisions about your credit worthiness.

Capital One was my first credit card six years ago. They have been good to me. But, for the best credit card for abroad, Nationwide, does not charge currency conversion fee, and usually you get the bank base rate, which is much higher than the tourist rate. However, if you wish to balance transfer, Cap. One are doing a good 5.94% apr. and just in case unlike me, you let yourself have to pay the minimum payment, it is worth the small amount. They have 0% interest all transfers until the 18th of this month, so be quick. they also have a freephone, which is better than the usual 0845 number. Good luck.Capital One are as sound as not YOUR POUND (ha). very good card. o.k. p.s. never go near MBNA BANK I.E. VIRGIN, ALLIANCE LIECESTER, THEY CHANGE THE RULES. CAP ONE. DO NOT.

What Roger was getting at (I think it is anyway) is that Cap One does not report your credit limit. They only report your high balance, which makes it look like you have over utilitzed the card and you are constantly charging it up to your credit limit.
