I would like to know which method will result in higher credit score I have heard many different opinions.

1) Make minimum payment

2) Full payment

3) Pay the minimum payment on a bi-weekly basis

I am only asking about the best way to build FICO score NOT the about the risks associated with credit card debt.

I think they base it on your payment history more than the amount you pay. They also look at your credit/debt ratio so try to keep your balances low. Maxed out cards that your paying the minimum on still looks bad. You want to have about 50% of your limit available.

All good answers above mine but they are all off the mark. The magic number is 20%. Keep your balances to less than 20% of the available credit limit. Make at least the minimum payment every month, doesn%26#039;t matter one iota if you pay extra. That is the best way to increase your credit score (within the parameters of your question).

I would make a full payment if I could. All it says on your credit report is %26quot;pays as agreed%26quot;, meaning you are paying it on time. It does not show how much you paid. (it only shows the highest balance you had).
