While our Credit Card companies are constantly educating us on the risks related to the Credit card information - including details of not sharing the Credit Card - front and back copies - Are the insurance companies approved to collect these informations?
Is it safe to give the Front %26amp; Back copies of the Credit Cards?
no!!!
Is it safe to give the Front %26amp; Back copies of the Credit Cards?
I guess I don%26#039;t understand the question.
If I read it correctly your insurance company (not sure if you mean Insurance agent) is making a photocopy of your credit card, both front and back. My question is why? My next question is did you ask why? My third question is you didn%26#039;t allow them to do this did you?
No, it is not safe!!! There is no reason an insurance company would need this information...they have their own sources to get this information that protect you too.
If I where you...I would call the credit card company and check to see if any charges have been made yet.
However, it might just be someone that hasn%26#039;t kept up with current laws. It used to be that you had to have a CC before many places would take a check...and they would write that number on the check. But, that became illegal many years ago.
The only time you have to show a credit card is when you want to use it...and nothing gives them the right to photocopy it.
I am a Tax Accountant...and it was standard operating procedure to make a copy of the Social Security Cards. Just to prove that this is what they presented to me...and I didn%26#039;t help them cheat in anyway...well, they changed that last year too. I can no longer protect myself in that manner. Which I don%26#039;t understand at all...I have the number and it will be matched to the name and the year of birth...so I will know if it is a good number or not. What difference does it make if I have a copy of the SS card itself. All they are doing is making it easier for people to cheat...now that I can%26#039;t demand to see the SS card itself.

NO it is not safe. And no reputable company would ask you for this information.
